Warsaw became the latest — and perhaps most strategically significant — European stop for Taiwan's flagship trade showcase on June 22, as the European Taiwan Excellence Expo opened in the Polish capital for the first time, drawing more than 100 Taiwanese companies and buyers from across the continent.
The three-day event, organized by the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) and commissioned by Taiwan's Ministry of Economic Affairs, spotlights the island's capabilities in digital infrastructure, systems integration, smart manufacturing, and supply chain resilience. But one industry has stolen the spotlight this year: drones.
Sixteen Drone Makers, Over 640 Meetings in Three Days
TAITRA revealed that 16 Taiwanese unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) manufacturers are participating in the Warsaw expo — each scheduled to hold 40 individual business meetings over the course of the event, for a combined total exceeding 640 sessions. According to TAITRA, that meeting density is the highest ever recorded across all Taiwan Excellence Expos worldwide, a figure officials say reflects surging European demand for Taiwanese drone technology.
TAITRA Chairman James C.F. Huang told reporters that more than 3,000 buyers from 46 European countries had registered to attend and negotiate deals — already surpassing the previous attendance record for any Taiwan Excellence Expo held in Europe. Huang said he was confident the three-day event would set a new benchmark. He noted that major Taiwanese aerospace and drone players — including AIDC and Thunder Tiger — are presenting their latest technologies, and that drone company representatives would be in back-to-back meetings from morning through evening for the duration of the expo.
Other prominent exhibitors include drone manufacturers Thunder Tiger (雷虎) and Ginmyung (錦明), alongside energy-sector participants Formosa Smart Energy (台塑新智能), Fortune Electric (華城電機), Datung Electric (大東電業), Chuangyang (創揚), MSI (微星), Lof Solar (樂福太陽能), JY Optoelectronic Devices Co., Ltd. ( JY Aluminum Solar Frames,璟元光電), Green Source (綠源), and Yuechuang (越創).
Poland and Taiwan Eye Four Sectors for Deeper Industrial Ties
Agnieszka Sygitowicz, president of the Polish Taiwan Chamber of Commerce, said bilateral industrial exchanges have accelerated markedly over the past two years, with both sides building an increasingly active cooperative relationship. She identified drones, green energy, machinery and equipment, and electronics as the four priority sectors for Taiwan-Poland cooperation going forward.
Sygitowicz said the expo's Warsaw debut itself reflects the deepening of that relationship. She projected that within the next two years, more Taiwanese investment and partnership projects would take root in Poland — through joint ventures, technology cooperation, and supply chain integration.
