Nasdaq-listed blockchain firm OwlTing Group plans to roll out a new booking and payment platform in June that will allow artificial intelligence agents to handle hotel reservations from initial search through to cross-border settlement.
OwlPay Booking Engine Targets AI Agent Era
The product, called OwlPay Booking Engine for Agent Checkout, will first be deployed through the company’s OwlNest property management system, which supports more than 2,800 hotels and accommodation operators worldwide.
Three-Layer Infrastructure for AI Payments
The platform is built on three layers: an Agent Wallet that lets AI agents authorise and execute payments; an Agent Checkout module based on the x402 open payment standard; and Harbor, a back-end system for settling payouts to suppliers.
OwlTing has integrated Visa Direct, enabling eligible U.S. debit cardholders to fund transactions directly in USDC stablecoin without a separate cryptocurrency exchange account. Settlements to hotel operators will be made in fiat currency. The company holds money transmitter licences or equivalent approvals in 40 U.S. states.
Strong Booking Volumes in Existing Network
OwlTing reported gross booking volume of about $280 million across its OwlNest platforms in 2025. Its Asia-focused booking ecosystem recorded roughly $30 million in monthly gross order volume in both March and April 2026. The figures represent activity within its client network and do not reflect OwlTing’s own revenue or volumes processed through OwlPay.
$1.2 Trillion Online Travel Market Opportunity
Global online travel gross bookings are forecast to reach $1.2 trillion by the end of 2026, according to Phocuswright Research, with hotels and lodging the largest category. Online penetration in the hotel segment is expected to rise from 55 percent in 2024 to 58 percent this year. Market researcher IDC projects that AI agents will execute 30 percent of all travel bookings by 2030.
Preparing Hospitality for AI Agents
“We already participate in real hospitality booking payment flows across Asia-focused booking engines and OTA-related scenarios,” Darren Wang, founder and chief executive of OwlTing Group, said. “Our goal is to extend this infrastructure to the global hospitality market, helping hotels, B&Bs, OTAs, and hospitality platforms become AI-agent-ready.”
The company said the timing and scale of adoption would depend on market conditions and regulatory requirements.
