At Lite-On Technology(光寶科技)'s booth during MWC 2026, HTC's 5G private network subsidiary G REIGNS delivered a live "German commercial deployment report card" — proof that Taiwan's 5G vertical integration has moved beyond PoC into real revenue.
The core of HTC G REIGNS' invited exhibition centers on successfully deployed 5G private network commercial applications in Germany. The project employs a rigorous 5G SA (Standalone) architecture, integrating localized core networks and Mobile Edge Computing (MEC) technologies.
From Lab to Live Operations
"XR applications have virtually zero tolerance for latency, which is why 5G private networks are the only viable option," noted an HTC technical specialist on site. In scenarios requiring simultaneous multi-terminal device connections processing high-volume XR content, traditional WiFi or public networks frequently experience crashes or visual artifacts. However, under the G REIGNS solution, video transmission remains extremely smooth. Lite-On's 5G RU (Radio Unit) equipment plays a critical role, with its high stability and performance connectivity ensuring system reliability even under heavy load conditions.

This German project achieved commercial success by addressing enterprises' most pressing cost and security concerns. Through 5G private networks, companies can establish completely autonomous communication infrastructure. In industrial training, employees wearing XR headsets can instantly access Digital Twin models located thousands of kilometers away to practice precision equipment operations.
"Data security and privacy are primary concerns for European enterprises," HTC stated. The data independence provided by 5G private networks ensures that precision manufacturing technical details do not flow to public cloud services. Additionally, the solution offers excellent scalability, allowing enterprises to expand base station coverage according to facility size. The demonstration showed how the system enables multiple trainees to engage in immersive interactions within the same space without mutual interference.
5G-Advanced Lays the 6G Foundation
With the establishment of 3GPP Release 18 (5G-Advanced) standards, such applications will become increasingly widespread. 5G-Advanced specifically enhances support for latency-sensitive services, which represents the core challenge for XR, cloud gaming, and autonomous driving.
The collaboration between Lite-On and HTC demonstrates Taiwan's industrial chain complementary benefits. Lite-On excels in hardware manufacturing and RF technology, providing high-quality RU equipment, while HTC possesses strong software platform and system integration capabilities.
