Defense Minister Visits Military Production Units Before Lunar New Year

As the Lunar New Year approaches, Taiwanese Defense Minister Wellington Koo (顧立雄) visited military equipment units in the north of the country on the morning of January 2 to express gratitude to personnel.

Koo emphasized that building up Taiwanese defense capabilities is a key policy direction, with military equipment units playing a crucial role. He encouraged continued improvements in research, production, and testing capabilities to steadily support military readiness. Koo extended early New Year greetings and praised the units' year-long efforts in safeguarding national defense and advancing military equipment production.

The Ministry of National Defense stated that Koo visited the Armaments Bureau's 202nd Arsenal and the Standards and Testing Center, where he received mission briefings and observed production line operations.

Koo also conveyed gratitude from President Lai Ching-te (賴清德) as commander-in-chief, thanking personnel for maintaining their posts so citizens can celebrate the New Year with peace of mind.

Koo noted that the Armaments Bureau's 202nd Arsenal bears responsibility forhigh-risk research and producing various types of ammunition for Taiwan's military. He emphasized that units must prioritize safety protection, implement pyrotechnic safety regulations, improve operational procedures, continuously introduce new protective equipment, create safe workplace environments, and strengthen personnel training and disaster response capabilities to ensure mission safety.
