Taiwan's beverage market continues to grow, with industry revenue rising by 7.2% in the first three quarters of 2025, with full-year figures expected to reach new highs. Bubble tea remains a favored drink, accounting for 56% of 28,788 shops nationwide as of September 2025.

Except for a brief dip from 2020 to 2021 due to the pandemic, the industry has shown positive growth since 2005, with total revenue for 2024 passing NT$130 billion, according to the latest official statistics.

Low overhead and startup costs spur industry competitiveness, with the number of stores rising by an annual average of 4.1% between 2020 and 2024. Revenues typically peak in late summer due to strong demand for cold drinks during the travel season and at year's end around holidays like Christmas and New Year.

Delivery platforms and mobile payments have also significantly changed consumer habits, with online and mobile payments seeing respective increases of over ten and eight percentbetween 2020 and 2024.

In addition to developing new products, shops report that improving food safety andsecuring consumer trust are key to driving future growth.
